Noe Valley Rec Center

The exterior playground at the Noe Valley Rec Center was the beneficiary of extensive renovation from '07-'08. The playground has structures for different ages, a sand pit, plenty of benches for caregivers to watch and relax as well as new bathrooms.

In order to maintain the quality of this space, it is the community's responsibility to take care of the park while they are present. This includes discouraging children to move the sand from the sand pit, respectfully playing on the structures, calling out various issues to Rec and Park staff before it deteriorates, and just in general helping to keep the park clean.

Also, do not miss the unique installation art on top of many of the posts around the park. These were created by Troy Croliss.

Esther Lee is the FoNVRC stewardship committee lead. Esther is a Day Street neighbor and is often in the exterior play area with her son, Christopher. She has a background in organizing, fundraising and is a former legislative aide to State Sen. John Burton. She currently works full time and is happy to talk about the play area with others in the park.
